A community came together to create a journey we could all enjoy. Thank you Kelowna.
A Night of a Thousand Lights was held on September 25, 26, and 27, 2014 at the Kelowna Artisan House on Lawrence Avenue. This unique exhibition was open to the young and old with a perfect yet complex correlation between engineering and art, structure and chaos. Guests were invited to navigate a maze of creations that lead through different worlds of emotion. Everyone left with an illusion of light, a wonder of creation, and a revived connection to their community. It was said that A Night of a Thousand Lights set an in-road for future artistic events in Kelowna.
The exhibition went through inception to completion within less than 7 weeks and attracted over 3,500 people.
I went down the rabbit hole and the result was phenomenal. There are currently no plans to return to the real world! - Amir
An event with class, an event with heart, an event that grows a community. Thank you for the opportunity to experience it with you! - Candace & Jordy
What a beautiful event! Rain or shine it shone! Thank you Thousand Lights Team for the honour of showing art on site. Looking forward to your next creative enterprise. - Kyle Zsomor
The exhibit was said to be ‘magic’, but magic doesn't just ‘happen’. The magic was a direct result of hard work from many, a result of sharing common ideals, interests, and goals. Approximately 50 visual artists presented their interpretation of the world through installations, sculptures, and paintings with the concept of "Light" as their theme. Over 15 singers and musicians transported us through songs and rhythms, guiding our journeys of the grounds.
A dedicated team of 16 volunteers maintained the feel and flow of the exhibit. They were an intrinsic part to the success of the exhibit.
We are grateful for everyone’s time, collaboration and participation to this special community event.
A tremendous thank you to our sponsors who helped make the exhibition possible:
